Low Karb Keto Nut Granola

In my pre-keto days, I ate a lot of granola. I would eat it for breakfast as cereal; I would eat it as a snack over some fruit flavored yogurt. But with most granola brands containing roughly 30g of net carbs per serving, granola has been a distant memory for me over the past year.

Recently, I was approached by Low Karb, who asked if I would be interested in trying out their low carb nut granola. I’m always up to review a product — especially one that might add more food options back onto my keto menu — so I told them I’d be happy to.

Family friend (and daily granola eater) Jayden joined me in trying out the Low Karb Cinnamon Almond Pecan Keto Nut Granola. Examination of the package revealed a serving size to be 1/3rd of a cup, which struck me as small until I looked at a couple of other bags of “real” granola in our pantry. All had serving sizes from 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup.

In terms of the nutritional info, each serving has 190 calories, 18g of fat, 5g of protein, and 2g of net carbs. There are 10g of total carbs, 4g of dietary fiber, and 4g of sugar alcohol (erythritol). Often, I find that erythritol has a cooling taste to it — but at least they didn’t use xylitol, which just wrecks me digestively.

Upon opening the bag, I was immediately hit with the smell of granola — an oaty, real granola aroma. I served up a portion for both Jayden and me. I had mine with almond milk; Jayden had hers “straight up”.

The flavor and texture of Low Karb Keto Nut Granola is really dead-on. The sweetness, to me, was just right. So many granolas now days taste like children’s cereal with all the added sugar. The cinnamon adds a wonderful balance to the nuts without being stealing the show.

Another thing I enjoyed was that you really taste all of the nuts in this granola. It starts out with the sunflowers, but as you chew, the pecan and almond come forward. What amazed me most about Low Karb Keto Nut Granola is how well they emulated the flavor and texture of oats with the coconut flakes.

Besides being a great granola in its own right, I could see using it in fat bombs, protein balls, and in recipes for crackers or cookies.

  1. This with milkadamia and a little bit of bocha sweet is a fantastic cereal that hits the spot!

  2. This is great “cereal” and I’ve been enjoying it for over a year. It’s pricey but unprocessed; it’s healthy and tasty. I’m trying to incorporate it in keto recipes. Sometimes, I just roll cream cheese in it. Really good.

Love the blueberry variety Costco sells! I’ll have to look for the nut granola variety.
