gramsI’ve seen a few YouTubers post this recipe and I’m not sure who developed it first, but based on the dates of the videos, it may have been Keto Mamma Nacine. This chaffle is perhaps the lightest textured chaffle I’ve had, and perhaps that’s how it got the “Wonder Bread” name. In terms of taste, I found it to be one of the more eggy tasting chaffles I’ve had — so if you don’t enjoy the flavor of egg, this probably isn’t the chaffle for you. However, if you’re looking for a cheeseless chaffle, give this a try.
Ingredients
1 large egg, beaten
1 TB almond flour
1 TB mayonnaise
1/8 tsp baking powder
1 tsp water
Directions
- Mix the ingredients together (a plunger whisk works great for this recipe).
- Pour half into a mini waffle maker (or split between two).
- Cook for roughly 3 minutes or until you no longer see steam coming from your waffle maker.
- Remove to wire rack and allow to cool.

Notes
- Serving size is one chaffle.
Has anyone tried this recipe out using egg whites (same kgs) instead of a whole egg to see if the “egginess” taste gets reduced or eliminated?
I did .. I used just egg whites and it was perfect…. didnt taste eggy at all.. didnt want the eggy taste with a regular sandwich or as a hamburger bun….
I was hoping to make a chaffle that would mimic egg challah so I’m thinking this recipe might be the best one to try with just a couple of tweaks. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance. 🙂
I used to make challah a lot in my pre-keto days. I think the flavor would be easier to hit than the texture. I’d have to play around though…
It’s funny because the recipe I found online for this Wonder Bread waffle was 3 tablespoons of almond flour and I could barely get it down my throat I forgot it’s 1 tbsp I don’t know why this recipe I follow today had three
I made that one with just egg whites and, even with 3tbsp of almond flour, the batter is so runny it always overflows. Texture of the chaffle is ok though. Also, it seems to make three
wish they had names
Are the other recipes to tried in the vid posted someplace? I wanna try a couple more!
They are all in the “Chaffles” recipe section.
Why was the 1 Tablespoon of mayonnaise had a line through it as if it is eliminated from the recipe? I left it in as a few other Wonder bread chaffle recipes have the mayonnaise in the ingredients list.
If you put your mouse over an ingredient, it will put a line through it. I think it’s so you can “check off” the items as you use them.
Is a serving 1 or 2 Chaffle?
a serving is one chaffle
Can I freeze these chaffles?
You bet. I actually did a video on bulk chaffle making, freezing and reheating:

Was wondering if this could be made in the mini pocket sandwich maker? Love your videos. (Wanted to subscribe but it looked like it would open me up to unwanted adds etc)
It’s an interesting idea that I’ll have to try one of these days…
What is the purpose of mayo in the chaffles?
Moisture and richness
much eggy-er than other wonder recipes. soggy.
