gramsThere is a really great nut butter called Nuttzo. It’s also fairly keto friendly at 5g of net carbs in a 2 TBS serving. Unfortunately, it’s pretty expensive ($15/jar at Costco). The nut butter in this recipe is inspired by Nuttzo, has only 2g of net carbs per serving, and (in my opinion) tastes even better – at a fraction of the cost.
Ingredients
1/2 cup roasted unsalted pecans
1/2 cup roasted unsalted almonds
1/2 cup roasted shelled pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup macadamia nuts
1/4 cup shelled sunflower seeds
1/4 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 tsp sweetener (I prefer BochaSweet)
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp chia seed
2 tsp flax seed
1 tsp sesame seed
Directions
- Mix the pecans, almonds, pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, sunflower seeds and peanuts in a bowl – or better yet, a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup (this makes it easier to pour into the blender).
- Pour the nut/seed mixture into the blender along with the sweetener, cinnamon, salt and vanilla extract and process until fairly creamy. With a Blendtec, this takes 45-50 seconds at power level 8. A food processor can take quite a bit longer.
- Add the chia, flax and sesame seeds and run at low speed or pulse until incorporated. Do not over process on this step, as you want the seeds to maintain their texture and “crunch”.
- Use a spatula to transfer the nut butter to an old nut butter jar or mason jar. This nut butter will keep far longer than it takes you to eat it, though you may need to stir the oil back in from time to time.

MACROS
- Per 2 TB serving: 5g total carbs, 3g fiber, 2g net carbs, 15g fat, 5g protein
Is it 2net carbs per 2tbsp? A little confused on serving size of your homemade recipe.
Thank You!
That is correct. The company that made this recipe card plug-in keeps making improvements. Hopefully they will add a field soon for “Serving Size” and that will help clear things up.
I’ve never heard of nuttzo… but your version sounds so good I definitely want to try it out. I like almond butter and peanut butter for the most part, but this would be a nice change. Thanks Steve!
Hi Steve, I really enjoy watching your videos. I recently tried making nut butter using my Ninja 1500. It never fully blended. My Ninja got hot and started sounding weird so I stopped before it got there. Maybe yours is a better combination of nuts. I’ll give it a try. Any idea of the best sweetener to use for canning? I want to make Keto friendly chow chow but I’m worried the sugar replacement will continuously get sweeter as it sets and be too sweet. Think the Bocha sweet would work? Thanks.
I’d definitely go with BochaSweet. I haven’t tried BochaSweet, but I can tell you that any erythritol based sweeteners tend to crystalize over time when in a solution.
Hi. Can I make this using my Ninja Pro 900w?
I would think so. That’s a pretty powerful blender.
I can’t wait to try this as I love Nuttzo, but not it’s price. Do you have a favorite source for the different nuts? Thanks
Allan
I get most of mine a Costco
Success! And so tasty. Thank you!
I can’t wait to make this. Realistically, I will just eat it straight from the jar. Thank you for the recipe!
Thanks for the recipe. Please provde the measurements in the units of gm and mg . tea-spoon, cups are confusing
