Mission Meats Meat Stick Sampler

The Mission Meats sampler pack had been showing up in my Amazon “suggested items” for a while. I’ve honestly never been all that big on beef sticks or jerky. Most packaged beef sticks I’ve had seem greasy and most jerky is terribly dry and chewy. And it seem both always require flossing afterward to get a chunk of something out from between my teeth.

The Mission Meats Sampler Pack includes three each of: “tasty” original beef bar, beef stick, jalepeño beef stick, and turkey stick.

Everything we saw on the label was encouraging — “gras-fed”, “no nitrates”, “no nitrites”, “gluten free”, and “no MSG” (I don’t personally have an issue with MSG). The ingredients list was straight-forward, reading like something made in a kitchen rather than a factory or science lab. Plus, there is no sugar added, unlike a number of commercial brands.

The beef bar was — hands down — the best “jerky” I’ve ever tasted. I felt like I was eating steak. The beef stick was solid and certainly better than most beef sticks I’ve had. Neither Connor or I loved the turkey stick, but we both agreed that the jalepeño beef stick was the BEST BEEF STICK either of us had ever tasted.

The entire sampler pack was $25. If you choose a specific stick, rather than the sampler, the price can get as low as $1.50/stick.

Watch the video below for Connor’s and my full impressions.
