This recipe is my take on the nut butters by Performance Nut Butter and Perfect Keto. If you have a decent blender, this is remarkably easy to make and far more cost-effective than buying prepackaged nut butter.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz roasted macadamia nuts

  • 2 oz roasted cashews

  • 2 oz coconut butter

  • 1/8 tsp sea salt

  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp non-sugar sweetener, such as Swerve or Bochasweet

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender jar. I use the Blentec blender and the Twister jar, but any high powered blender (such as Vitamix or Ninja) should work.
  • Gradually bring the speed of the blender up to high (I go to level 8 on the Blendtec) and blend until you have a smooth sauce. On the Blendtec, this takes between 30-40 seconds.
  • Transfer to a container and store in your pantry if you plan to use it within the next week, or store it in your refrigerator — where it will last far longer than it will take for you to eat it.

Notes

  • Macros are based on a serving size of 2 TBS.
  • This recipe can very easily be doubled.

  1. Hi Steve, is it possible to rework your print button somehow so that it prints only one page? Right now, there are 4 pages shown in my print preview before I print, and your video (which is a blank rectangle) takes up 1/3 of a page, and the ingredients list is all double spaced taking up page two with instructions all double spaced as well, flowing into page 3 and 4. I am able to print only pages 2 and 3 but then I’m missing the title on page 1 and the last instruction on page 4.

What device / browser are you using? And are you clicking the “Print” button in the corner of the picture above the recipe?

On a Windows system, using both Chrome and Microsoft Edge, if I click on the Print button on the food picture (next to the Pinterest button). I get a nice clean printout. Depending on the number of steps and notes, it sometimes goes to a second page — but it only displays the recipe.

Hi Steve, I’m having difficulty printing also. I can’t print from any iphone or ipad, have to go to PC, but then the print button doesn’t work either, have to copy & paste with all the pictures and blank spaces. I can print from word but not from the recipe link. Any thoughts? Thank you for all your great work working & re-working these recipes, always great to see your new videos!! Many Blessings, Mary

I forgot to mention I’m using Chrome on this PC.

Are you using the “Print” button that’s on the food picture next to the Pinterest button? When I use that on any desktop browser, it prints a very “clean” 1-2 page (depending on the length of the recipe) printout. I had never tried to print from my iPad until just now and I see that the button doesn’t work. Let me know on the desktop browser if you’re using the button on the picture and I’ll do some investigation on this end. I’ll probably have to contact the company that made the recipe card plug-in.

I spoke with the developer of the recipe card plug-in that I use. He says that the print button (the one on the food pic next to the Pinterest button) works fine on iPads and iPhones if you are using Safari as the browser. They will try to fix it for Chrome and Microsoft Edge on the iPad for the next release.

It works fine on the PC for me using any browser – BUT you need to use the print button that’s on the food pic. Otherwise you’ll get pictures and ads and other stuff that will make the recipe 4 pages long.

  3. This looks awesome…made my mouth water while you were making it! I don’t have a blender, so I was wondering if this would work with the Cuisinart Mini Prep? Would it be able to break down the nuts into a butter?

    • Steve @ SeriousKeto

I’m not sure that you’ll get it as smooth as mine (which isn’t an issue unless you’re using it my breakfast sauce recipe). In terms of a not-super-expensive blender that would work, I had a user tell me that his Instant Pot Ace did a good job. I think those are under $50.

  4. Just made this on my Ninja blender.
Worked fine to get to the same consistency as your example with the Blendtec.
Tastes really good, and even better after blending was complete.
I want to try the cocoa butter one for sure, but I have to order that (coconut butter/manna is easier to find in stores)
One thing, if people see “coconut butter”, check the carbs. There are pre made spreads with added sugar called this. Coconut manna is what you want.

  5. This is fantastic! Thank you for the recipe! Certainly helps the budget not having to buy the expensive keto nut butter.

  6. I used the Vitamix blender, and because the quantity was so small the ingredients just piled up on the sides and bottom under the blades. Switched to using the Cuisinart mini prep food processor, and it worked like a charm. Nice and smooth nut butter! Going to make the pound cake next.

I really wish your recipes could print with a picture of the finished product.
Everything else works fine, I just prefer photos.
