gramsNear the top of the list of my favorite things are cream cheese and anything smoked. As a result, this recipe has become one that I make on a weekly basis. It goes great on your favorite keto cracker, on celery sticks, in a roll-up/wrap, or pretty much any place you’d use regular cream cheese.
Ingredients
1 brick cream cheese *see note on brand/carbs
olive oil or avocado oil spray
1 TB Serious Keto BBQ rub
Directions
- Make small tray or “boat” out of aluminum foil (see video for how I do it). Place the brick of cream cheese on the foil and coat with olive oil or avocado oil. I find that spray works the best for this.
- Apply BBQ rub to all sides and then smoke (see next steps for details)
- If smoking in an outdoor smoker, smoke for 2 hours at 245F (approximately 120C). You can use the wood of your choice, but I like cherry wood.
- If smoking on a stovetop smoker, you will smoke the cheese for an hour, following the instructions in the video below.

Notes
- Nutritional information is based on a serving size of 1 ounce (28g) or 1/8th of a brick.
- Carbs can vary significantly depending on the brand of cream cheese you use. Kraft Philadelphia brand has the lowest I’ve found at .5g per ounce.

Make this. Now. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just happened to be already smoking a pork shoulder when I saw this! Turned out amazing! Steve, you have a super cute family! We love watching you, keep going!
Just came across this again. Made it when I 1st saw your video, what was left was better the 2nd day! Just wondering have you considered making your own cream cheese? Philly is getting hard to find sometimes & it would be awesome to be able to make it at home with the same low carbs!
I have not tried making cream cheese, but it’s an interesting idea.
I make this every time I fire up the green egg. It is so delicious. My family loves clam dip so I adjusted the recipe a little to include the smoke cream cheese, it was a major hit.
This cream cheese I started smoking a few months back. I really love the BBQ rub. I recommend both videos – the BBQ rub recipe and the smoked cream cheese I used “Pride of SZEGED™ Hungarian sweet paprika in the rub only because it was what I had on hand in a half cup quantity… also because it was time to use it up due to the fact this spice had a Best If Used By August of 2015. Still GOOD! I would buy more but “Spiceco” doesn’t show it on their website anymore. ENJOY!
